Who fit? Wii Fit.

Nintendo’s Wii game console continues to outperform in the gaming industry.  Last week, the company announced the “Wii Fit,” a wireless peripheral ” that looks like a bathroom scale and reads movement,” paving the way for even more intense virtual gaming and exercising.

According to the AP, “It can be used to play virtual sports such as soccer and ski jumping, as well as training staples such as yoga and aerobics.”

Because of the level of interactivity of Nintendo’s existing suite of games, the Wii already can be a great workout.  With the introduction of the Wii Fit, and with companies like Expresso Fitness, it certainly looks like things are shaping up for more “virtual” fitness.
