Diet soda is just as bad for you as regular soda?

Diet soda is just as bad for you as regular soda is. According to a BU Medical School study, “People who drank one or more diet sodas each day developed the same risks for heart disease as those who downed sugary regular soda, a large but inconclusive study found. The results surprised the researchers who expected to see a difference between regular and diet soda drinkers.”

Could this be possible? Other studies indicate that there is a very high correlation between being overwewight and drinking diet soda.

    This makes me very, VERY sad. And not because I like diet soda. No, I’m sad that liking diet soda apparently means I’m a total wreck otherwise. Thanks Tab.

    I think the statement needs to be defined alot better though or at least explained better. There are definitely bad side effects to the artificial sweeteners found in diet sodas and regular sodas are just plain high in calories. Well, I may have found an answer to the question and it’s Zevia. Zevia is an all natural sugar free alternative to diet soda and it tastes great. It contains stevia which has been used for centuries in China and is natively grown in South America. Zevia is a carbonated stevia supplement and has given me a choice other than the currently marketed diet sodas.
